Site Directors • Must have a Bachelors or Associates degree in Education, Child Development or similar field • Must be 21 or older • Experience working with children

3-6pm at three elementary schools (Richmond, Charlestown & Hope Valley).

Title: Site Director - Schools Out Under the direction and supervision of the Administrative Assistant, the Site Director will be responsible for planning, development, implementation of the classroom activities, and following the designed preschool curriculum. The Site Director is responsible for ensuring the children's social, physical, emotional, and mental development in our program.

Qualifications: Must be at least 21 years of age and hold at least an Associate's degree in a field relating to education, child development, human services or recreation. Have a minimum of two years of supervised experience working with school age children. CPR/AED/First Aid required; American Red Cross or equivalent.

Principal Activities: 1. Responsible for the planning, scheduling, and implementation of activities and programs for the children. 2. Prepare schedules and reports for Supervisor. 3. Keep accurate documentation of attendance, absentees, an emergency information on each child. 4. Prepare supply and equipment list for Supervisor. 5. Manage field trip expenses. 6. Conduct monthly staff meetings in conjunction with other site directors. 7. Communicate effectively with parents, facilitators and/or principals. 8. Communicate all serious problems to Supervisor. 9. Attend classes and trainings as required by the Y and the State. 10. Coordination of schedules with School's calendar. 11. Perform other duties as agreed upon with the Supervisor.

The incumbent must have a warm and friendly personality, be sensitive toward the feelings and needs of others, and be able to relate well to young children, be mature, responsible and organized. Principal Activities: 1. Assist in preparation and implementation of all activities. 2. Create a safe and supportive learning environment. 3. Meet the individual and group needs of the children. 4. Assist Site Director in supervising children during play as well as during quiet homework time. 5. Know emergency procedures. 6. Behave as a role model illustrating YMCA philosophy and values. 7. Keep area safe and clean at all times. 8. Maintain punctuality, good attendance and appropriate attire. 9. Report any suspected child abuse to Site Director. 10. Attend mandatory trainings. 11. Maintain rapport with school personnel. 12. Other duties as assigned by Site Director.

Senior Counselors, Lifeguard / Swimming & Boating Instructor and Housekeeper / Maintenance Staff.

Senior Counselor 18 years and older. Responsible for the care and welfare of campers. Plan and lead general games, activities and programs and assist with other programs when lead by an activity instructor. Most importantly, a counselor must be a positive role model for the growing and changing experience that we provide for our campers. Lifeguard / Swimming & Boating Instructor Primary responsibility for safety and welfare of all swimmers. Instruct various levels of swimming and boating for beginner to advanced swimming abilities. Will rotate between swimming instruction, boating programs and life guarding. Above all, our lifeguards understand their prime duty: ensuring the safety of EVERY swimmer at all times. Must currently be a certified RI non-surf lifeguard. Also, must be small craft safety, CPR / AED / Oxygen Administration / First Aid certified - training provided by the YMCA if needed. Housekeeper / Maintenance Staff Responsible for the housekeeping, sanitizing and cleanliness of all bathrooms and indoor facilities as well as preparing the camp facility for Day Camp, Rental groups and YMCA meetings and activities. He/she should identify and perform building repairs and improvements as necessary and perform pre and post season procedures. Must be CPR / AED / First Aid certified - training provided by the YMCA if needed. Monday - Friday 11:00 AM to 5:30 PM with occasional weekends. Ice Rink Concessions Attendant
Must possess exceptional organizational skills with a broad knowledge and understanding of the membership policies, rates, programs and facility. Responsibilities include the ice rink's concession sales, stocking and cleaning. Prior food handling experience a plus but not required. Part Time.

Skate Guard

Skate Instructor
Skate Instructors are responsible for assisting with the planning and implementation of skating lessons.
